Say Cheese

Four kids are crammed into frame together, every one of them making some kind of face at the camera. One boy tilts his head back laughing, another hooks his cheek out with a finger, a third has a hand pressed flat over his friend’s head, and the last stares out with cool, deadpan attitude. The patterned wallpaper behind them in soft greens gives the whole thing an old-photograph warmth, like a moment pulled straight out of somebody’s family album. Packed shoulder to shoulder, the four of them read less like four separate portraits and more like one big, easy friendship caught mid-laugh.
